Happy Spring! Jesus is Risen and we are all part of God's resurrection people! Take comfort in these verses today from Romans knowing that because Christ was raised from the dead we too have new life in His name.

"We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. We know that our old self was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. For one who has died has been set free from sin. Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. We know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him. For the death he died he died to sin, once for all, but the life he lives he lives to God. So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus." Romans 6:4-11 (Emphasis added)

Below you will find an update from our preschool and a note on a week in the life of our Pastor, Bryan Spang.

MOVING ON CEREMONY on May 21st will be during the second service for our preschoolers, and their families, followed by refreshments in the foyer. We hope everyone in the congregation can stay to greet our preschool families and share some cake with us!
A huge thank you to the congregation members who supported our Giant/Sheetz cards enrollment and purchases. You helped raise $1,000 for our preschool this year. We also had some key "anonymous" donors from the congregation that we are forever grateful to for making a "forever" impact in the future of our young children. We thank you that this ministry continues to be an outreach to the community!
A typical week in the life of Pastor.....

Many of you have asked from what a "typical" week is like for me as pastor of Good Shepherd. I put "typical" in quotes, because in ministry there is always the unknown and atypical. I count it a joy and a privilege to serve all of you. It energizes me when I see how the Holy Spirit is working in your lives to build all of us up more and more in our care for one another and our love for this community. As you know I am a "worker/pastor" holding both a secular job and pastoring. This can be a challenge, and I could not do what I do without the unfailing love and support of Stacy and being blessed with loving and supporting children (Alyssa, Paul, Allison and Caroline). This is truly a group effort.  Click here to see an example of a week in the life of your pastor.

"The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace." Numbers 6:24-26
